As a Data Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our mission, designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that transforms gigabytes of raw data into actionable insights. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting our renowned clients—including DAX30 organizations and Fortune 500 companies—as they achieve their goals.
You’ll develop scalable data pipelines, optimize data flows, and collaborate closely with our top-tier data scientists to ensure seamless data processing. You'll face and solve complex, intellectually challenging technical problems, making a direct impact on the success of our projects. You’ll be part of a dynamic, highly skilled team that includes global C-level executives and exceptional machine learning engineers.
We offer the flexibility to work from anywhere within Europe, CET +/- 2 hours, or you can join us at our Frankfurt offices. You’ll have the freedom to manage your working hours and actively contribute to shaping our work culture and principles.
The Role
- You will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that allows us to turn raw data into actionable insights, enabling our clients to reach their net positive goals.
- Develop, construct, test, and maintain data architectures such as databases, large-scale processing systems, and data warehouses.
- Ensure data is organized and easily accessible for analytical and machine learning tasks.
- Work closely with data scientists to enable seamless data flows and optimize performance.
- As one of the first employees of the company, you will learn how to quickly scale a start-up business and work directly with the founding team.
- You will co-define the company you want to thrive in, help build key structures required to scale our operations, co-define our data engineering guidelines and principles, and help us bring to life a unique culture and work environment.
What You'll Bring
- Top of your class at a renowned university in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Exceptional track record beyond your studies (e.g., sports, social initiatives, entrepreneurial activities).
- Strong understanding of database systems, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Hadoop.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with programming languages like Python (e.g. Pandas library).
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain clean and efficient code.
- At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a high-performance environment like a start-up, preferably in a data engineering role.
- A problem-solving mindset and eagerness to tackle the trickiest challenges.
- Working (occasionally) at our Frankfurt or Berlin Co-Working Space is preferred. Remote work in time zones CET +/- 2h is possible.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (to quarterly retreats or client workshops).
- Fluent in English (Fluency in German is a plus).
